Fellow Crimson Frost Books author Calida Ally shares her guest blog!
Thank you Mac for so kindly, inviting me to write a guest post. If I may, I would like to talk about success stories because I find them so inspirational and motivating.
I find it so fascinating, reading about a writer’s journey to becoming a published author. JK Rowling had been turned down many times before achieving the success she now has. E.L James first took the route of self publishing and is now one of the most famous writers in the world!
Any writer’s success story enthrals and inspires me because the road to publication isn’t always an easy one. There are moments when you do feel like throwing in the towel or you doubt your abilities as a writer. During those moments I either unintentionally come across or sometimes actively search for stories about authors who have fought through similar times with sheer determination and perseverance to get to where they are and that is when I dust off my keyboard and turn on the computer with a feeling of determination to write something which won’t get turned down!
When I read about writer friends getting ‘The Call’ or securing contracts I can’t help but feel elated for them! It is just such a fantastic feeling being able to share another writer’s joy at becoming published!
In July of this year I was contracted by the wonderful Crimson Frost Books! I still can’t believe it! My book, ‘Chara’s Song,’ is due for release in 2014. I am so grateful to CFB’s for making my dream come true.
I am also so grateful to all the author’s who have shared their success stories, because they have helped me so much in my own journey as a writer. Even now when I avidly read success stories, I become motivated to keep improving as a writer.
“Dare to live the life you have dreamed for yourself. Go forward and make your dreams come true.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson.
Wishing everyone all the success in the world. Happy writing!
Want to know more about "Chara's Song?" Here's a blurb:
Journalist Chara Bennett is papped with Latin singing sensation Feliciano Guerrero. Because the photographer appears to know Chara, Feliciano believes that he has been set up by her.
The situation is made worse by a condemning article which is written about Feliciano and published the next day alongside the photographs.
Three years after Feliciano wreaks his revenge, Chara finds herself catapulted into his world again against her will. Despite the intense dislike they have for one another, the blistering sexual chemistry which sparks between them is hard to ignore...
Thanks for blogging here, Calida. Keep going forward, and thanks for encouraging us to do the same! I'm looking forward to reading 'Chara's Song!'
